Welcome – I am Henry O. Miller DTM4/PDG in my twenty-fifth year of membership with Toastmasters.  From 2008 to 2009, I was the LGET for District 4.  That year our District was recognized by Toastmasters International for our Educational accomplishments.  In 2009 – 2010, as the District 4 Governor, our District was Distinguished for Exceptional Leadership and Devoted Service.

I am presently a member of 4 clubs in District 101 and one in District 4. SCO -Toastmasters – My Home Club – Santa Cruz Authors, The Grammarians – Northrup Grumman Toastmasters. Surf City Toastmasters – An Advanced Toastmasters Club based in Santa Cruz. And Next Step Toastmasters – An Advanced Club in Santa Clara, CA. I am also a member of Point of Order – A Club which specializes in Roberts Rules in District 4.

Over the years, I have represented many of my clubs at Tall Tales, Humorous, and International speech contests. In 2017 I won the Humorous Contest at the District level.  I have also competed at the Regional levels twice and once at the Semifinals of the World Championship of Public Speaking for District 4.

When I am not Blogging, Speech Writing, or Executive coaching, I enjoy working with my fellow Toastmasters, who continue to inspire me with their questions and feedback. Speech editing is one of the services I perform frequently; however, this project – “Speaking for all Occasions” was started as a direct result of the many questions I have received over the years from clients and fellow Toastmasters.

I truly believe, “all speaking is public.” Coaching to make public speaking more conversational has and will always be my focus and passion. It is my hope that this blog will answer some of your questions if public speaking with confidence for all occasions is also your goal. A warm and friendly welcome to my blog.
